Unfortunately I have no idea how to make the picture rotate... Anyway. Alex drove out to Auburn yesterday and paid cash for this beauty. It has a half horse power engine, a clutch and a brake. It is super snazzy refurbished machine from the 70's. If only we could have brought it home yesterday. Sadly due to it's size we will need to wait until Saturday to pick it up when we can borrow a truck from someone. As Alex said: "This thing doesn't just have a motor and a table attached to it, it's get a full roll cage and 5 point harness. You need a licence just to operate this bad boy." Ah yes that is my boy. It takes a true man to get this excited about a brand new sewing machine.
So now the question is who has some industrial sewing for us to do as soon as we finish the yurt? We need to get our monies worth out of this machine!
We'll be back to actual sewing this weekend!

Anna - I'm glad to see you'll have a commercial machine, but be careful. With a motor like that, it could do some serious damage. Excited to see future postings on the yurt progress, I'm sure you'll be glad to get situated. Perhaps when the yurt is completed you could sell the sewing machine on Craig's List and not have to worry about looking for jobs sewing things like circus tents! Just sayin', lol!
ReplyDeleteHaha, yeah we can also always sell it back to the guy we bought it from but who knows with that kind of engine it might be fun to keep around! It's like a powertool for girls!
ReplyDeletewe are going tomorrow morning to pick it up from the shop so we will see how it goes once we sew on it.
